MEET THE FOUNDER
Glen Stewart
Glen Stewart founded Marquis Leadership in 2009 after working as an accomplished leader, executive coach, and organizational development professional across multiple industries for over two decades. His extensive leadership expertise has helped teams and individuals in healthcare, financial services, high-tech, retail, hospitality, telecommunications, media, and consulting. He has a long history of partnering with leaders to maximize their personal and professional potential, and helping teams create and align around a shared vision to effectively execute on strategy – boosting their ability to develop and sustain high performance.
As CEO of Marquis Leadership, Glen successfully positioned the focus of the company to become the preeminent provider of leadership and organizational development services for the healthcare industry in the nation. He has personally coached thousands of healthcare clinical and administrative leaders in almost every service line and institutional function and has worked with hundreds of teams. The leaders he has coached have ranged from early-stage career positions to the most senior executive roles and functions in clinical and academic settings, research centers, and foundations. In addition to coaching and facilitating as part of his daily work, today he is proud to have built an organization that attracts the most talented and experienced coaches, facilitators, and consultants in the business, and to be delivering value and positive experiences to many of the most prominent healthcare institutions in the world.
Glen is a member of the Forbes Coaches Council, is a Hudson Institute and International Coaching Federation certified coach, has an advanced graduate diploma in adult education, sits on several boards, and is a regular speaker at industry events. In 2023 he will be launching his new podcast called “Leading Healthcare Matters.”
Glen was recently honored as a Real Leaders 2024 Top Executive Coach, joining a small cohort that includes influential leaders such as Simon Sinek. He’s recognized for his ability to create and communicate a clear North Star, set strategic direction, manage change, and build high-performing teams that deliver meaningful results.
Meet the Team
Carlos Pellegrini
MD, FACS
Executive Coach, Organizational Consultant, Keynote Speaker
Dr. Pellegrini is a deeply experienced surgeon with expertise on surgical education, simulation, professionalism, and leadership. He is a pioneer in the development of technological surgical advancements and a world leader in minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery.
The son of two physicians, Dr. Pellegrini spent his childhood years in rural Argentina. He attended the University of Rosario Medical School and remained there for surgical training until he emigrated to the United States. After completing his second surgical residency at the University of Chicago, he was appointed to the faculty of the University of California, San Francisco and then moved to the University of Washington in Seattle, WA to become Chair of the Department of Surgery.
In his 23 years as department chair, he assumed many leadership roles in the highest decision-making bodies across UW Medicine and chaired many committees overseeing a vast array of work, including continuous professionalism improvement, diversity, and multidisciplinary practices.
In 2015, Dr. Pellegrini was appointed as the first Chief Medical Officer of UW Medicine and as Vice President for Medical Affairs, University of Washington to provide senior leadership for clinical practice standards across all UW Medicine sites of practice. Now retired from the practice of medicine, Dr. Pellegrini is applying his experience to coach healthcare providers and administrators develop their full potential, with particular emphasis on leadership and performance.
Dr. Pellegrini is a Past-President of the American College of Surgeons and the American Surgical Association. He participates in the highest leadership roles in regional, national, and international surgical societies. His bibliography lists more than 400 peer-reviewed articles, chapters, editorials, and books, and he is a board member of The Joint Commission.
Robert S. Sawin

Dr. Robert S. Sawin, recently completed 18 years as Surgeon-in-Chief and Senior Vice President at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He is the Herbert E. Coe Professor of Surgery, Emeritus at the University of Washington, where he also served as Vice- Chairman of the Department of Surgery for 17 years. From 2007 to 2019, Dr. Sawin was President and Chairman of the Board of Children’s University Medical Group, the faculty practice plan for the University of Washington faculty whose clinical practices were based at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He has held leadership positions in several regional and national organizations, including as President of both the North Pacific Surgical Association and the Pacific Coast Surgical Association, as well as Chair of the Organization of Children’s Hospitals Surgeons-in-Chief. He is currently actively involved in several committees of the American College of Surgeons, including the Pediatric Surgery Advisory Board, the Children’s Surgery Center Verification Committee, and the College’s Quality Pillar Committee.
Throughout his career in medical leadership, Dr. Sawin has consistently stressed the importance of the skills of empathy, compassion, and effective communication. In order to help physicians and other medical leaders in their development of those skills, he completed executive coach training in 2018 at Seattle Coach, an International Coaching Federation–approved training program. He has joined with Marquis Leadership to focus his professional efforts on helping leaders become more effective by leveraging their strengths, enhancing their skills of empathy and compassion, and minimizing the risk of burnout.
Dr. Sawin has written and lectured about Optimizing Joy in Surgery, and the importance of Love in making us better in our work, in our leadership, and as educators.
Nwando Anyaoku
MD, MPH, MBA

Nwando Anyaoku is a pediatrician and currently serves as VP and the inaugural Chief Health Equity Officer for Providence Swedish Health Services in Seattle, USA. Dr Anyaoku is a healthcare executive, strategic advisor, and entrepreneurial physician with extensive experience on organizational boards.
Dr Anyaoku spent her early years in Nigeria, West Africa where she earned a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Nigeria. After medical school she worked in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies before relocating to the US where she earned a Master’s of Public Health degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore MD.
She had her residency training in pediatrics and served as chief resident at the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey and served at the children’s hospital for over a decade as a clinician, and physician executive. After she served as the Division Chief of General Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital, she became the Medical Director of Pediatrics for CHI Alegent Creighton health system in Omaha, Nebraska before joining Providence Swedish.
Dr Anyaoku has focused on health and gender equity, healthcare innovation, population health, pediatric care, and global health throughout her career. She has held several positions at Swedish since joining the organization in 2016, including Executive Medical Director of Pediatrics and Executive Medical Director of Medicaid Strategy for Population Health. As Chief Health Equity Officer Dr Anyaoku co-leads the Office of Health Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, which drives initiatives to dismantle systemic racism, reduce barriers to health care access, and improve health equity.
She earned a Master’s in Business administration at the University of Washington Foster School of Business and completed a Robert Wood Johnson Ladders to Leadership fellowship training for healthcare leaders. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and Clinical Associate Professor at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, Washington State University.
With over 25 years of experience in population health, pediatric care and physician leadership development, Dr. Anyaoku is a much sought-after speaker, consultant and physician executive coach.
Joshua Freedman

Gina Montefusco

Gina Montefusco began her career as a pediatric emergency nurse, and over time developed a passion for helping colleagues grow and achieve their goals. This passion for development led her to nursing leadership. After feeling unprepared when placed into leadership she pursued organizational development in healthcare.
As a partner to leaders and their teams across healthcare including hospital staff, research staff, and fundraisers, Gina has helped prepare leaders to lead process improvement efforts, large-scale change, and create healthy high functioning teams. Through this process Gina has helped leaders find capacity personally and, in their teams, allowing them to feel more prepared to lead in an ever changing environment. Holding the belief that healthcare’s most important asset is its workforce, Gina has helped leaders create and foster innovative, effective, and compassionate work environments.
Gina believes that we must take care of the whole person to bring our best selves to work. Although primarily focused on healthcare, Gina has coached in a variety of other fields including technology and architecture. Gina is a certified executive coach and member of the International Coaching Federation. Along her path, Gina completed a Master’s in nursing healthcare administration and a Bachelor’s in human resources, psychology, and nursing.
Catherine Bachy

Catherine Bachy brings extensive experience working with leaders in both corporate and social sector settings. For ten years, she managed the philanthropic arm of a global Fortune 500 company. Catherine is fluent in both French and English and has professional training and teaching experience, including teaching in Morocco with the US Peace Corps.
In her work as a coach, Catherine is known for her ability to capture and communicate insights and visual metaphors to help her clients find clarity. She works closely with leaders who want to help their teams become high-performing while creating a positive work environment and managing conflict and stress along the way. Her roots as a first generation American raised by immigrant parents have shaped her life into one of curiosity and openness to multiple cultural and social narratives and perspectives.
Catherine is a certified professional coach with Newfield Network. She earned one Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Seattle University, another in Adult International Education from the University of Massachusetts, and a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Languages and Linguistics.
Claudia Aronowitz

Claudia Aronowitz is an accomplished executive coach, mediator and trainer with extensive experience in both the healthcare and not-for-profit sectors. After more than 20 years in senior management roles she transitioned into coaching, and has since worked with leaders in a variety of industries.
Claudia is known for her holistic approach to maximizing both personal and professional potential. She guides and supports her clients through change and transition, developing critical thinking and finding new perspectives. Claudia has a proven ability to bring clarity to complex situations, working closely with leaders on their communication style and conflict management skills to strengthen their relationships and teams.
Claudia holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition. She is certified with both the International Coaching Federation and the Coaches Training Institute. She holds a certificate in Positive Psychology and is trained in Organizational and Relationship Systems Coaching. Having studied and resided in numerous countries, Claudia understands how different cultural perspectives affect communication. She is fluent in English, Hebrew and Spanish.

Jen Neudecker

Jen Neudecker brings 20 years' experience in corporate sales, training, and leadership coaching. Her diverse background, and experience coaching leaders across disciplines and organizational levels, gives her a unique perspective from which she partners with business professionals to hone critical leadership skills.
Jen supports leaders to improve communication skills for greater effectiveness, define leadership brand and presence, and inspire those they lead. She takes a collaborative approach toward helping individuals achieve greater clarity, reassess obstacles, and navigate challenge, change, and conflict.
Jen holds a Certified Professional Co-Active Coaching (CPCC) designation from the Co-active Training Institute and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation. She completed her Accelerating Coach Excellence certification in 2021 and is a Personality Dimensions Facilitator.
Originally from Southern California, Adam settled in Seattle, WA in February 2007. His career in accounting and finance began in the audit and assurance practice, where he ultimately became a Certified Public Accountant; he remains active to this day. His work has spanned a myriad of industries including professional services, hospitality, manufacturing, and technology.
His expertise led him to be recruited by a Seattle firm specializing in serving clients in the small-to-medium business market. In this role, he assisted professional service, technology, retail, education, and manufacturing clients with accounting, finance, and performance turnarounds with the goal of driving enterprise growth and profitability in preparation for merger and acquisition transactions.
Most recently, Adam served as CFO and COO for a private company based in Bellevue, WA with $15M+ in revenue and 160+ employees. In the 3 years leading up to brokering the sale of the business to an international partnership, Adam oversaw 38% revenue growth, secured financing and managed a $13M new construction build, implemented several scalable enterprise solutions, and handled the legal, insurance and human resources functions of the company.
The common thread throughout his career has been his love of helping companies realize their full potential. He continues to do so now as owner and founder of Fulcrum Consulting.
Adam enjoys a multitude of activities with his wife and three daughters including sailing, travelling, scuba diving, hiking, and backpacking.
